Memorable Moments

I couldn't resist using another Sneak Peek Stamp Set for this week's sketch challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary.  The stamp set...Memorable Moments.  This is such a versatile set and has so much potential for lots of different projects.  I also used a few of the new 2012- 2013 In Colors...Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals and Gumball Green.  I started with a Crumb Cake base and stamped the flourish from the Creative Elements Stamp Set in Gumball Green.  Next, I added my Labels in Midnight Muse and Very Vanilla.  I then decided to tuck my Primrose Petals tag behind the top label and place my circle on top.  To finish my card off I added some Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon.

We hope you will join us this week for the sketch challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary.  Also, don't forget to check out what the other designers came up.  Have a terrific Tuesday and take care.

Betsy's Blossoms

Today over at Create with Connie and Mary we have a fantastic Color Challenge for you...Poppy Parade, Pool Party and Basic Black.  I have to say I am going to miss Poppy Parade.  It's one of my favorite colors ever.  These colors go together so well and make for a vibrant and cheerful card.  For my card I used the new Betsy's Blossoms Stamp Set from the upcoming catalog.  There are some amazing new sets and accessories in there.  I wasn't sure about this set at first, but it's growing on me.  I stamped my flower in Poppy Parade and punched it out with my 2 1/2 in. Circle Punch.  I then added a black Glimmer Brad to the middle.  The Pool Party scalloped edge was cut out using the Decorative Trim Die and I added a Basic Black Taffeta Bow to finish it off.  I really love how this card turned out.  I can't decide if it's the stamp set or the color combo.

Make sure you stop by Create with Connie and Mary and take a look at what the rest of the design team came up with.  We hope you will join us this week for this fabulous color challenge!  Have a terrific Thursday and take care.

Tea Shoppe- From Way Long Ago

I have to apologize for my lack of posting lately.  I have been super busy and I hope to find time over the next week or so to share with everyone what I've been doing.  So for now...on to the card...  This is a card I made about two months ago.  Yes...I am just now getting around to share it.  lol  I used the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set (which made it into the new catalog).  I first stamped the tea cup and then cut it out.  Next, I added the swirls that were cut using the Swirls Scribbles Die.  I wanted it to appear as though the cup had steam rising from it.  I finished it off by adding a tiny tag and some Pool Party Seam Binding.

I hope everyone had a fabulous Mother's Day.  I fixed brunch for our moms and we were able to enjoy the morning with our families.  The weather was also beautiful here today so we spent pretty much to whole day outdoors at home.  A perfect day in my book!  Have a wonderful Monday and take care.

Tickets and Tags Simply Scrappin' Gift Card Holder

So I can't believe it's already Thursday again and you know what that means...time for a fabulous sketch challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week I had to keep things simple because I've been super busy.  So I pulled out my Tickets & Tags Simply Scrappin' Kit to make this 4 x 4 gift card holder.  I do not buy many of these kits, but I couldn't resist this one.  I think for the simple fact that it has lots of tags and that little vintage pointed finger that I love so much.  Between the kit and this fantastic clean and simple sketch I was able to put this card together in about 20 minutes with some help from Chase.  lol  I started with a Basic Gray background and then added another layer of the Basic Gray.  I then added a piece of DSP from the kit and a Poppy Parade Banner.  Finally, I added my Pool Party layer with a ticket and pointed finger sticker.  To finish it off I added a button brad from the Vintage Trinkets.

Make sure you stop by and check out what the rest of the design team came up with.  We also hope that you will join us this week for our fabulous sketch challenge.  Have a fantastic Thursday and take care.

Nature Walk & A Special Celebration

Today is a special day over at Create with Connie and Mary.  It's their 100th Challenge!  The challenge...use your favorite DSP with pennants or banners.  Call me crazy, but my favorite DSP is the First Edition DSP.  lol  I know it's plain, but I really love the vintage feel of it.  It seems to work well with everything.  I used the Nature Walk Stamp Set for this card as well.  Since this is such a special challenge I wanted to make sure I added lots of fabulous details.  So I added some Victoria Crochet Trim, a button and a hat pin.

Also, Connie and Mary will be giving away Blog Candy for their celebration.  The candy...the design teams challenge cards this week.  That's right, I could be sending this card to you!  We hope you will join us this week.  Have a great Thursday and take care.

Beveled Windowpane Bookmark

I'm really sad to see some of the Stampin' Up stamp sets and accessories retire, but I'm also happy to see many of them go.  I can't wait to see the new catalog and all of the fabulous new products in it.  Because the Beveled Windowpanes are on the retiring list, I thought I would share one last project I made using them.  Actually, almost all of the products used to make this project are retiring.  This is a bookmark I made for a good friend.  I started by stamping the En Francais background on my Very Vanilla Card Stock.  Then I stamped my letter and flower image on top of that.  The letter is from the Lovely Letters Alphabet and the flowers are from the Charming Stamp Set.  I ran my Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon through the slits of the windowpane and tied it together at the bottom with some Victoria Crochet Trim and Linen Thread.  I added a Trinket Key and Vanilla Pearl Simply Adorned Bauble to the bookmark to finish it off.

Have a wonderful Monday.  Take care.
